Into Pieces

Who's Sorry Now?

Frey's TV idea is in pieces too (LAT here) James Frey waxed down his surfboard for a TV pilot, but it looks like the disgraced memoirist behind "A Million Little Pieces" won't be catching a wave on network schedules anytime soon. No TV deal for this guy. Dude. Take your ill-gotten gains and leave the scene. You're so over.

No Lobbying Reform - We'll say it again...NOTHING's gonna change. Both the Dems and the GOP need the system to stay the way it is. So, it looks and sounds good to initiate "Bold" reforms, but nah, not gonna happen. The Senate, within sight last week of passing a tough lobbying and ethics bill, got sidetracked by the Dubai port-management controversy and has moved on to other topics. House Republicans, at odds over such issues as whether to ban privately funded travel, have yet to introduce a bill. (Yahoo here)

Tony's back. We love the articles analyzing last nights premier of the new Sopranos season ...wouldn't it be great if we understood real life as well as we seem to understand the meaning of William Burrough's poetry? (MSN here)

Speaking of Drug Addicts....Was Slobo self-prescribing meds to get into Russia? (MSN here) “I don’t think he took his medicines for suicide — only for his trip to Moscow ... that is where his friends and family are. I think that was his last possibility to escape the Hague,” Uges said, referring to Milosevic’s attempts to get permission to leave his prison cell for treatment in Russia. “I am so sure there is no murder.” We still believe he was offed.

Who Ya Gonna Call? Oprah, the Fixer?!? UAE Businessmen want Oprah to come to Dubai to do PR for their cause...hmmm..will Oprah answer the call of the spoiled princes? (Gulfnews here)
