We're on the West Coast and don't quite get the NY eatery chic. Ok, the Oscar set is pretty silly, but it's disposable. Here today and gone tomorrow. But the new Buddakan - the 16,000 sq ft. restaurant opening next Monday in NYC's MEATPACKER district? Whoa.
It looks like something on the Titanic or an ill-fated Hollywood sound stage. We'll hold our tongue until the reviews are formally in, but YUCK, do you really want to eat with 320 hipper-than-thou New Yorkers?
