Who's Sorry Now?
Grover Norquist, the smarmy associate of our favorite wannabe gangsta, Jack Abramoff, that's who. Hypocrite to the max. We don't like any of these guys. Great interview last night with Matthew Connetti, writer for the Weekly Standard, and his new book, The K Street Gang "The inside story of how a group of self-styled Republican reformers succumbed to the temptations of power, becoming even worse than the Democrats they had been elected to replace. Now, some of those very reformers, including Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff, are under investigation, their careers and reputations tarnished by the very system they helped to create."
Here's a guy who preaches Tax-Reform and now this:
"Public documents suggest that Grover Norquist, president of the right-wing Americans for Tax Reform, has forgotten to pay his Washington, DC property taxes for the first half of this year. As of April 18, 2006, Norquist's taxes on his Washington, DC townhouse had not been paid for the period covering October 1, 2005 - March 31, 2006, the first half of the fiscal year. Norquist's taxes were due on March 31. Note: Norquist's property has not received a late fee, so there's a slim chance his check simply hasn't been processed."
