To woo GOP conservatives, McCain leads with his right
On foreign policy, McCain briefly tangled with a man in the audience who believed the U.S. military should be allowed to torture detainees in the war on terror. McCain, who was once a prisoner of war, made no apologies as he cut the conversation short, saying: "Obviously, sir, we have a different viewpoint, but torture is not American and it doesn't work."
