DJ's Apologize for 'Wetback Steakhouse'

Who's Sorry Now?
Two dopey DJs who developed a bit called 'Wetback Steakhouse'.

"Under threat of suspension or firing, two WBAB radio hosts Friday apologized profusely for a fake commercial they aired called "Wetback Steakhouse," said they would undergo cultural sensitivity training and channel more of the charitable donations they raise to Latino groups.John Parise and Roger Luce of the Roger and JP morning show also said the station would invite Latinos onto its public affairs programs to discuss issues affecting their community."

Ok, so they apologized. But, the excuse that they needed to be culturally sensitized is a little hard to believe. As we keep saying, this immigration thing is going to get more out of control as time goes on.

"We at the station have been educated over the last 24 hours to the level of our ignorance where the Latino community is concerned," Luce said. "We acknowledge that given the tenuous climate on Long Island, use of terms like 'wetback' are not only insensitive, but potentially inflammatory."
