Police Defend Immigrant 'Apology'

Who's Apologizing Now?

The Charlotte NC Police here:

"A police spokesman on Wednesday defended the department's apology for an officer who tried to notify federal agents about a possible illegal immigrant.Keith Bridges sent a memo explaining why the department's policy does not allow officers to ask the residency status of crime victims.Bridges' memo says "the current practice is consistent with the authority we possess at the local level and puts us in a better position to help those who are victims of crime."
