Who's Sorry Now?
Who's sorry that the immigration bill will never see the light of day? No one. Well, maybe the Minutemen, a few straggler talk show hosts, Lou Dobbs - that's about it.
The GOP wants this issue to quietly fade away....or they'll have to pass what the Prez wants - which really is amnesty, etc. etc. So, watch it go POOF!
The latest? Those "illiegals" who are supposed to pay back taxes? Well, it's unconstitutional, for real. Hey, wouldn't you think the US Senators would KNOW this stuff before wasting time....oh, that was the strategy...right.
More here:
"A key feature of the Senate bill is that it would make illegals pay back taxes before applying for citizenship, a requirement that supporters say will raise billions of dollars in the next decade. There's just one problem: The U.S. Constitution specifically prohibits revenue-raising legislation from originating in the Senate. "All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives," according to the "origination clause" in Article I, Section 7. "
