The GOPers aren't going to fall for this one again, are they? Are they really that dumb, er, numb? Let's get this straight (literally). So, all the IMPORTANT issues are solved, right? Haditha? Education? Healthcare? Immigration? Deficit? Oh, right. Bush is planning on leaving all THAT stuff to the next President.
So, let's take on the old "Banning Same-Sex Marriage" hot button, that won't ever become an amendment to the Constitution, but WILL get out the vote, dust it off, and start scaring the electorate with it. Sounds pretty SORRY to us.We hope that no matter what your politics are, you get that this is blatant manipulation, pure and simple. Take an issue, get the talk show hosts all riled up (which they get PAID to do, BTW), which in turn
is supposed to get YOU all riled up...show endless pictures of lesbo weddings...forget the fact that Dick Cheney's own daughter is a lesbo, and get you out to vote for politicians you don't really want to vote for, because you're "scared" that your way of life is threatened. Yeah, right. Here: "President Bush is beginning a major push for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex
marriage, part of a new campaign to appease cultural conservatives who say he and his party abandoned their issues after the 2004 elections. Mr. Bush plans to declare strong support for the amendment — scheduled for a vote in the Senate next week — in his radio address on Saturday, and at an event at the White House on Monday with conservative activists and religious leaders, White House officials said Friday."
