FEMA is a deadbeat

Who's sorry now?

How about the Oregon National Guard, who's now getting stuck with the FEMA bill for helping out during Katrina....your tax dollars NOT at work.

At every opportunity, David Paulison, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, likes to remind Americans that recovery of the storm-ravaged Gulf Coast is going to take years, not months.

That apparently is his agency's philosophy about paying its bills, too. FEMA has turned out to be a deadbeat, and an ungrateful one at that, stiffing the Oregon National Guard.
