Those draft age citizens - which, btw, is now 18 - 42!, men and women! The Dems Charlie Rengel is getting ready to propose legislation that reinstates the draft to, ashe says, "deter congress from voting for more war."
WaPo "There's no question in my mind that this president and this administration would never have invaded Iraq, especially on the flimsy evidence that was presented to the Congress, if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way," said Rangel, a Korean War veteran. "If we're going to challenge Iran and challenge North Korea and then, as some people have asked, to send more troops to Iraq, we can't do that without a draft."
Rangel has drawn modest support for his draft proposal in recent years and it has been unclear whether its prospects might improve in the 110th Congress.
That may sound good, but the wars of today can happen without Congress, unfortunately. We posted about the draft awhile back as it relates to the idiot Neo-con-artists' desire to start a war with Iran (on behalf of Israel, btw....). Dangerous days ahead, folks.
