So this idiot Isenberg, puts ads out sex ads using his rival's phone number on Craigslist and other sites - what a nightmare for her. But stupid criminals are stupid. The detective found the IP address in the trash....one of the oldest detective tricks in the book.

Isenberg and Blasberg were former co-workers. According to a police report, Isenberg was upset that she had closed on a property he had been trying to sell....The ads promised that she would make ''you go home with a smile'' for the right price.

Blasberg hired attorney Leah Mayersohn and private investigator Robert Crispin, who worked with Craigslist to take the ads down -- though they kept reappearing. The ads had been completed using a Yahoo e-mail created in Blasberg's name.

Crispin quickly narrowed suspects to Isenberg. He began covertly digging through Isenberg's trash, usually about 4 a.m. The key evidence, Crispin said, was a calender page with an IP address that matched one used to create the Yahoo account. ''It's really worked out perfect. . . . It's the oldest trick in the book,'' Crispin, a former Coconut Creek detective, said of the trash digs. Miami-Dade Detective John Jones, of the Intracoastal station, also began investigating.

Nine of the 26 ads came back to an IP address that belonged to Isenberg. Investigators believe the rest of the ads had been done by laptop, accessing other people's wireless Internet service. In June, Jones raided Isenberg's North Miami-Dade house, carting away computers. ''There is always a little bit of a trail. A little crumb and we were able to follow it back enough to get search warrants,'' Jones said.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A top campaign adviser to Hillary Rodham Clinton resigned Thursday, a day after suggesting Democrats should be wary of nominating Barack Obama because his teenage drug use could make it hard for him to win the presidency.

Clinton herself apologized to Obama as they waited to fly to Iowa for a debate.

Obama's campaign sent out a fundraising letter contending that "this kind of attack is becoming a pattern as Clinton's support declines."

Bill Shaheen, a national co-chairman for Clinton and a prominent New Hampshire political figure, had raised the issue of Obama's youthful drug use during a Wednesday interview, published on washingtonpost.com.

"I made a mistake and in light of what happened, I have made the personal decision that I will step down as the co-chair of the Hillary for President campaign," Shaheen said in a statement released by the campaign Thursday. "This election is too important, and we must all get back to electing the best qualified candidate who has the record of making change happen in this country. That candidate is Hillary Clinton."

Mr. Bransome declined to comment.

A few weeks later, Mr. Ash called the police and told them that Mrs. Tobias had confessed to him and that he had a tape recording to prove it. Mr. Ash has a past: he has been arrested at least 11 times on charges ranging from larceny to prostitution; He has been called Mr. Madam because of a past connection he says he had to Heidi Fleiss, the Hollywood Madam. Investigators flew to Mr. Ash’s home in San Diego and spent a day interviewing him.

“She confessed to me on tape,” Mr. Ash, said in an interview. “I believe she absolutely did it.” He would not provide the tape, but expressed outrage that the case was not moving more quickly. “I’m the only one standing up for him. Who else in this whole crazy thing is looking out for him?”

A former California State-Long Beach instructor will no longer write a weekly column for a Columbia, Mo., newspaper after admitting to plagiarizing material from a student reporter. John Merrill, now a University of Missouri-Columbia journalism professor, wrote a Sunday column for the Columbia Missourian, a community newspaper affiliated with the school.

But his Nov. 4 column about Missouri's women's and gender studies program used three quotes and other phrases taken from an Oct. 5 article in The Maneater, an independent student newspaper. Merrill is a former director of the Louisiana State University journalism school and has also taught at Northwestern State, Texas A&M, Maryland, Virginia, and the University of North Carolina, in addition to Cal State-Long Beach. In a letter to Missourian editors, Merrill apologized for what he called "unintentional plagiarism."

Evidence obtained by the Weekly places Carona inside a moving vehicle while, well, affectionately engaged with a then-low ranking sheriff’s department employee. The pair kissed, giggled, moaned, groaned, cleaned up and offered expressions of love. After the 45-minute romp, the female said to Carona, “Do I still smell like you?” The sheriff said, “A lot! A lot! A lot! A lot! A lot! A lot!” “How do we hide it?” she replied. Through a private attorney, the sheriff declined interview requests, demanded a copy of the recording, and implied he might claim it’s been doctored. However, the woman confirmed details of the encounter. She asked that her name not be used in this article for fear of retaliation.

But it’s not just her word. Neither Carona nor the woman knew at the time that their physical activities in the vehicle had inadvertently activated the redial button on a cell phone. And this is where Carona’s already stunning gift for creating scandal becomes legendary. An audio recording of the affair was left on an unwitting person’s telephone answering machine.
