So many apologies...so little time.
Who is apologizing, who should be apologizing, who doesn't have a clue!

4:42pm Katrina, Rita Recovery. There isn't enough sorry to cover the shame in this one. This should be breaking all of our hearts, whatever political party.
Great editorial writing in the Times-Picayune has been ceasless "It's a phenomenon that crosses political, social and cultural lines. Politician or celebrity, Republican or Democrat, you cannot see mile after mile of destroyed homes and businesses without being affected. Not unless you are heartless." (more here). And today this: "More than 4,500 evacuees were expected to check out of their government-paid hotel rooms Tuesday as the Federal Emergency Management Agency began cutting off money to pay for their stays. " (more here)
Question for the brainiacs behind this debacle (read Homeland Security, FEMA, et al): Let's get this straight. You need to wiretap citizens to protect us in case of a terrorist attack (God forbid)...but counting on you for, oh, let's say, water, food, electricity after said attack wouldn't be a good idea. Alrighty then, now that we've got that straight, let's conveniently change the subject and hide our heads in the sand. Huh?
More from the We're-Not-Sorry and We Never Will Be Crowd (so there). What better subject to switch to than Karl Rove's strong arm tactics on the NSA hearings?
"Congressional sources report Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove has threatened to blacklist any Republican who votes against the president. The sources said the blacklist would mean a halt in any White House political or financial support of senators running for re-election in November. " (more here)
"It's hardball all the way," a senior GOP congressional aide said. Love this game, love this game.

James Frey and his house of cards.
Oh goody. We get to post about one of our favorite topics. Seems as though JF may not have the smooth ride in Hollywood he was hoping for. Great article here from the LA Times.
And we here at Post An Apology have an open invitation to JF to come clean on our site and formally apologize for everything - the lies in the book; the lies to Oprah; the using or not using, whichever it is; and anything else he needs to get off his mind.
We've been asking, "Did he look loaded to you on Oprah's now-famous apology show?" Ah, yeah, he sorta did...glassy eyes, incomprehensible responses to easy questions...not good signs. So, maybe A Million Little Pieces will become a self-fulfilling prophecy as it all continues to unravel. "And they couldn't put Humpty back together again." ____________________________________________________________________________________
OK, now, this is getting very complicated:
- Will the Danes accept the Lebanese apology? Lebanon apologized Monday to Denmark after the rampaging demonstrators set fire to its diplomatic mission in Beirut...(read more here)
- Will the Danes meet the demands of 400 Muslims in Bangkok who are demanding that they, the Danes, apologize every day for 1 month (read more here).
- Will Muslims accept the Danish apologies? We know that the cartoon wars keep raging (and raging and raging). And we know that the UN's Kofi Annan keeps urging Muslims to accept the apologies offered and act with "calm and dignity" (read more here). But he asks for this at a...U.N. environment conference? Seems like a weak request of an even weaker group. Can't we all just get along?
- And now that nutbag in Tehran (oops, too harsh) er, the President of Iran has succeeded in bullying the country of Dubai into halting "Western broadcasts" because Western programming "contained and discussed democracy." (read more here) It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood - NOT. You would not want to be a young person in Tehran today.
- 5. The latest today: Iran to publish Holocaust cartoons (seriously, more here) IRAN'S largest selling newspaper announced today it was holding a contest on cartoons of the Holocaust in response to the publishing in European papers of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed. Jeez, it's getting crazier every minute.
6. Meanwhile, back at the (gay cowboy) ranch, no one in the GOP is sorry about domestic spying. At least officially. But some are not happy with the direction of the program (in the Justice Dept. for example). (read more here) How do you weigh in?
7. And now, let's lighten up some, shall we? Fashion Week started in NYC and you'll be happy to hear that, gulp, working women can "rejoice with stylish-yet-appropriate clothes to wear next fall", blah, blah, blah. (more here) (better stuff here) Oh barf! Sounds grim. Working women are still apologizing for the 1980's shoulder pad / bow-tie look a-la Working Girl. Are we going to start referring to yoga-moms as 'yuppies' ?
For those of you who want to Apologize: Do so in the comments section today. We're working with different formats.
