Irving Nails The Boss's Boss
Who's Sorry Now?
Well, George Bush for outing Valerie Plame? Not. He's oblivious. Waaaaay back we posted about this asking "Who's Scooter's Superior?", as documents came out stating he said "my superiors ok'd it". Our point was then that Irving reported to Dick who reports to George. Now we see this Papers: Cheney Aide Says Bush OK'd Leak. Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide told prosecutors President Bush authorized the leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case. Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the CIA leak that Cheney told him to pass on information and that it was Bush who authorized the disclosure, the court papers say. According to the documents, the authorization led to the July 8, 2003, conversation between Libby and New York Times reporter Judith Miller.
So, there you have it. What anyone will do about it remains to be seen. We're wondering why these guys, who were pretty darn powerful back in 2003, were shaking in their boots at Joe Wilson's op ed in the first place? Big, tough guys, getting kinda paranoid, no? Oh, no, wait...maybe they really did have something to hide. Hmmmm.
