Jeez, you'd think we're absolutely heading for something pretty scary. Why is it that all the oil on the planet sits under nutbags....Iran, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iraq? Kind of a cosmic joke, no? And it looks like somebody's going to go nuclear, so get ready for a red hot end to summer in more ways than one.
Gas will go to what, $8 a gal in the US? We thought $5 for sure, but think now it'll hit $8. We're scratching our heads asking, "Who profits from the insanity of this new flare up in Israel, Lebanon, etc?" We don't have "think tank" smarts...but let's take a layman's read of the situation:
- All the oil is under hotheads. Iraq's oil fields are some of the richest...and the closest to being "owned" by the US. The PSA's (production sharing agreements, look it up) are already distributed. The US went into Iraq for one reason only - GET THE OIL
- Iran also wants the Iraqi oil and also has a bunch of centuries-old religious beefs between Suni / Shi'ia whatever problems - the want the Iraqi oil just as badly as the US
- Venezuela has a bunch of oil and Chavez hates the US - he'd love to team up with anyone but George. Careful, Hugo, the whole Christian / Muslim thing could become an unintended consequence in your quest for allies.
- The neocons are DYING to take down Iran. The neocons are mostly all supporters of the Likud party in Israel and have been bullying the US into fighting their cause since GWB came into office. They want war at any cost and will continue to hijack American foreign policy as long as it takes.
- The Christian Right in the US wants to push along the apocalypse to welcome the Second Coming. The Apocalypse starts with Israel taking charge of the area. They're the neocon cheerleaders.
- The Muslims have been waiting since - what the 1200's to get back at the Vatican for the Crusades? They've immigrated all over Europe to be positioned for the takeover.
Holocaust? Could be. The wildcards? China (who's cuddling up to the Iranians and learning Farsi like crazy); Russia (Putin is shifty); India; all the Buddhists around the globe who don't want to be in the whole Christian-Jew-Muslim thing. Where do we go from here? Stay tuned.
