The head of the Amherst Industrial Development Agency is NOT apologizing. Hey, the PR game is tough. Ok, CNN does a story for you, but don't LIE about it in the first place, dude.
"James J. Allen, executive director of the IDA, defended the payment of the fee, saying the CNN segment - scheduled for broadcast next month - will bring $250,000 worth of national publicity to an agency that gets too little respect at home
"I make no apologies. This is a great move for us. Do you know how much it would cost to produce something like this?" Allen said. He called his earlier denial of the payment "a mistake," and he blamed his critics for raising questions about the matter."
