It's the war stupid is the refrain heard over and over again. And now even James Baker's Study Group on Iraq, and also daddy's confidante, says, "It's a hellva mess over there".
Today, the dictator-most-likely-to-succeed, Muqtada al-Sadr, took over Amara and is on the move...straight into Baghdad, we think. Remember his Million Man March into Baghdad? Hey, we blogged here months ago that what Iraq needs is a good dictator, and quick!, to restore order. Looks like it's going to happen.
Sadr will stage a coup, the US will look the other way, and get out. But not really. Don't worry, we're not leaving all that oil for Sadr and his nutbag friend in Iran! No way, Jose! We're still building mega military bases there and will still employ mercanaries, er, contractors, to protect the US interests (read OIL, BABY!).
