Ralph Norman hires illegal immigrants?

Who's NOT APOLOGIZING now?

That would be Republican candidate Ralph Norman of South Carolina. Here's the clash between business and the political winds....a multi-millionaire real estate developer who is campaigning on illegal immigration....meanwhile HIRING illegals at his jobsites. Folks, America does not have enough workers. Get over yourselves and know that one day we'll be the North American Union, anyway...a Republican idea being supported by GW Bush.

(here) Norman replied by saying he would answer the question Friday during a news conference. But within a half hour Norman's campaign manager told 6NEWS he did have time to talk.

NORMAN: “I don't know who the Mexicans work for. They probably work for Wachovia.”

Norman said the immigrants worked for a sub contractor, not his company.

NORMAN: “I do not check our subcontractors. People that have a company they hire their own people. I don't check it now and won't in the future. That's why we need an immigration policy.”

6NEWS: “Isn’t it a little hypocritical to run an ad against illegal immigration when your development in fact profits from illegal immigration?”

NORMAN: “No sir. I disagree with that. You're wrong in your premise. I'm not apologizing for anybody. I'm not apologizing for the federal government. It's their responsibility.”

Norman said in 32 years of business he has occasionally discovered an illegal immigrant on the payroll and has always "dealt with it." 6NEWS asked him what he meant and he said he's fired the worker or asked that they become legal.
