We agree. Smarmy Jonah Goldberg should not only pay up (AlterNet, LAO), he should apologize to Juan Cole, his readers, and US and Iraqi troops, for his reckless and bullying tactics.

While debating the war at National Review Online two years ago, Times op-ed columnist from the right Jonah Goldberg offered the following wager:
Let's make a bet. I predict that Iraq won't have a civil war, that it will have a viable constitution, and that a majority of Iraqis and Americans will, in two years time, agree that the war was worth it. I'll bet $1,000 (which I can hardly spare right now).
