US Embassy in Iraq - DISCLOSED!

Ok, so everyone's up in arms about the uber OIL embassy in Iraq - the ONLY reason we're there - because the designs being made available on the architect's site.

Berger, Divine, and Yaeger's site was down because of this faux pas. Here's a link to the images from Norwegainity. Whatever. The scandal here is that this fortress, er, embassy - the largest US embassy in the WORLD- is all about protecting the oil interests of the US based multinational oil companies, and the Bush, Cheney, Rice cabal. Is this a bad thing? Not if you're in the oil business. Or a contractor.

But if you're a hapless US army guy or a US Marine, it bites. What are they doing all day every day? Protecting the highway from the Baghdad airport into Baghdad. Why? The supply lines that feed the embassy project are running 24/7 on that highway. The surge? Need more people to protect the building of the embassy and getting the oil fields ready to pump once Bush is out of office. Duh.

Get a clue. Once again, it's imcumbent upon us to say this about the Iraqi conflict: IT'S THE OIL, STUPID. Ok, so you know that.

Did you know that THE BIGGEST US embassy in the world is being built in Iraq? Did you know that personnel need to wear flak jackets and helmets IN THE GREEN ZONE? WHY? Because the insurgents are getting better, and we're getting worse - at least at security. Why are we building the biggest US Embassy in the world in Iraq? Yup, you guessed it. It's all about the oil. Long after Bush, Rice, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al are gone....the US based oil companies will be reaping big, ginormous profits from THE OIL.

BAGHDAD (AP) — The U.S. Embassy has ordered its staff to wear flak jackets and helmets while outdoors or in unprotected buildings following an increase in mortar and rocket attacks against the heavily protected Green Zone.

The order, obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, was issued last week after four Asian contract workers were killed during a barrage into the Green Zone, a 3.5-square mile area along the west bank of the Tigris River in the center of Baghdad. The area contains the U.S. and British embassies and many key Iraqi government offices.

The Bush administration, followed by China, India, etc. Why?

``For too long our nation has been dependent on foreign oil,'' President Bush said in his annual State of the Union address Tuesday evening Washington time. ``This dependence leaves us more vulnerable to hostile regimes, and to terrorists, who could cause huge disruptions of oil shipments.'' here

Here's Bush's hedge against the turmoil in his (crazy, illadvised, neocon) upcoming Iran invasion... Add to that the recent "Go to hell" comment by Chavez (Venezuela would have been another source of oil) and there you have it.

PS - They also tested the American tolerance for higher prices over the past 2 years and, well, American consumers aren't too troubled by $3+ per gallon gas, so we predict sometime soon gas prices will hover at around $4 per gallon, on it's way to $5 per gal.
