10 Dumbest Congressmen

This is worth reading and totally bi-partisan:

Radar Online:
Congress, as any CSPAN viewer can attest, has never been a bastion of intelligence. As far back as a century ago, Samuel Johnson was demeaning the nation's legislators as a "circus of rogues and fools." But when it comes to sheer stupidity, the men and women of the 109th have distinguished themselves as a breed apart.

Despite a notoriously compliant president and Republican majorities in both houses, they've spent over 600 days in session without conducting a shred of productive business, which is not to say they've just sat around...

FBI raids Curt Weldon's daughter and friend

Who's sorry now?

That would be Karen Weldon and Charlie Sexton, who's homes were raided by Federal agents today. Wow, that's pretty extreme and so very public...kinda like the perp walk. What gives?

Philly.com:
The raids came three days after news broke that the FBI is investigating whether the Delaware County congressman used his influence to help his daughter, a registered lobbyist, win consulting contracts.

At an event earlier today at Philadelphia International Airport to discuss airport noise, Weldon said the investigation is politically motivated - blaming a complaint filed by Melanie Sloan, director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

"She is the only one I know of who went to the Justice Department and asked for an investigation," Weldon said. "I know that because I have her letter."

Voter Disgust

Who's Sorrier and Sorrier now?
That would be both politicans and voters.

Seems like everyone's pretty disgusted by the personal lives of others....and hey, it wouldn't matter that much if folks weren't so hypocritical...

WaPo here "Many Republicans also said it will be virtually impossible for the newly designated Republican candidate in Foley's district to win, because Foley's name remains on the ballot.

The most common Democratic attacks have been the sort used against Republicans such as Rep. Deborah Pryce (Ohio), a member of the House GOP leadership team who has said she knew nothing of the allegations against her friend and colleague Foley. Nonetheless, Democrats are criticizing her for not catching warning signs and for being part of a team that they say averted its gaze from Foley's problems."
