Bush apologizes for Walter Reed

Who's sorry now?

Don't know if he's hungover or if he's truly sorry, but President Bush apologized today for the $hitty conditions at Walter Reed. He'd better be apologizing - he's a draft dodger/war monger wh's actions have harmed these kids for life. And, hey, George! A photo-op ain't gonna be enough.

President Bush apologized to troops face to face on Friday for shoddy conditions they have endured at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He shook the artificial hand of a lieutenant and cradled a newborn whose daddy is nursing his remaining, severely injured leg back to health....
But Steve Robinson with Veterans for America tells a different story.

"I was at Walter Reed yesterday. Within 10 minutes I was encircled by about 15 soldiers having problems with their medical discharge, telling me they needed to get in touch with their congressman or their senator," Robinson said. "The system is broke," he said. "We need him (Bush) to be personally affected by it."

US Army Chief Apologizes for not giving a $hit about wounded soldiers

Who's apologizing now?

Lt. Col. Kevin Kiley, who's a sumabiatch, for sure. There goes his military career. Kiley is gone and sorry. Hey, buddy, get your sorry a$s out of here:

Lieutenant General Kevin Kiley, the army surgeon general, said he was sorry for the shabby living conditions of convalescing soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center and acknowledged there was an urgent need to simplify procedures.

"Simply put, I am in command," he said in testimony before a House subcommittee. "And as I share these failures, I also accept the responsibility and the challenge for rapid corrective action."

Commanders apologize for Walter Reed

Who's apologizing now? The commanders who have the Walter Reed blood on their hands. Shame on them. And shame on all loudmouthed right wing talkers (that's you! Hannity, Hume, Savage, Limbaugh, Coulter, Malkin, Hewitt. You who will NEVER SERVE your country, shame on you, to a person.) who 'support the troop's but don't have a clue!

WaPo Senior Army commanders today apologized for failures that forced some wounded outpatient soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to live in substandard conditions and wage lengthy bureaucratic battles over their treatment, and they vowed to improve a system that they said had been overwhelmed by the numbers of wounded combatants and the complexity of their injuries. Here's a short video to watch about today's proceedings:

Top Army Brass Resign over Rats at Walter Reed

Who's NOT IN THE ARMY now?

That would be the Army Secretary, who resigned abruptly today over the Walter Reed scandal. Hope this shuts up the smarmy talk show nutbags who will NEVER SERVE but who support the troops. Right. As they languish away at Walter Reed's back rooms in pitiful condition. What a sham. Glad Gates seems to be cleaning house.

AP Harvey's departure, announced on short notice by a visibly agitated Defense Secretary Robert Gates, was the most dramatic move in an escalating removal of officials with responsibilities over one of the military's highest-profile and busiest medical facilities.

Remember Born on the Fourth of July? If not, rent it and watch some of it....we're in BornAGAIN on the Fourth of July. Here's something to remind us all:

Rats to the troops courtesy of the US government

Who's sorry now?

Every bureaucratic idiot who has hailed from the mountain top, "We support the troops". Oh yeah? Watch this - good old-fashioned reporting from Dana Priest. RS Last night on PBS Newshour, Priest admitted Walter Reed’s dilapidated condition was “surprising” to her. “We think that the American — we know that the American people support the troops, no matter what they think of the war,” Priest said. “And so, when we started hearing these stories of neglect, and in some cases indifference, it was unbelievable.”
